Edgar Froese - pioneer of electronic music - was on a lifelong search for the ultimate sound with his band TANGERINE DREAM. The band formed at a time when cosmonauts Yuri Gagarin and Neil Armstrong were setting off for new worlds: At the end of the 60s, the Cold War is in full swing and the universe becomes a place of longing. TANGERINE DREAM create sound worlds that catapult the listener into other spheres and are meant to expand consciousness even without drugs. They process heartbeats and breathing sounds, experiment with synthesizers and sounds that NASA and ESA had tracked down in space. The film shows unreleased footage, shot by the band leader himself: for the first time we see the band behind the scenes, both on tours in Europe and America, as well as at the photo shoot with Jim Rakete or on vacation by the sea. Interviews with colleagues and friends like Jean-Michel Jarre, Michael Mann and Linda Spa, give an additional insight into the world of TANGERINE DREAM.
