"Follow the money" - to track down the source of a problem. This phrase is the program in this exciting crime series about the dirty side of the "clean" energy industry. When a fitter dies in a wind farm owned by the Danish company Energreen, the stubborn detective Mads Justesen begins the investigation. In the course of his research, Justesen uncovers the criminal machinations of the energy company specializing in wind power. Energreen regularly hires the employees of cheap subcontractors to carry out the assembly work in the most adverse weather conditions. And this has had fatal consequences before... The plot threads are skilfully combined to create a highly topical economic crime drama. It is about moral corruptibility and the flourishing "green economy" that the large companies in the energy sector have taken over extremely profitably. Keyword: greenwashing. The central themes of the series are greed, ambition and the inhibition threshold to commit or accept crimes for one's own profit. In addition, there is an arsenal of characters that defy all stereotypes, which gives the Danish hit series many more exciting conflict and narrative levels. Seasons 2 and 3 of the crime series, which deal with fraudulent banking transactions and money laundering in the drug trade, will also be starting soon on filmfriend. "«Follow the Money» grabs you from the first episode. This is partly due to the narrative style. We follow the story from different perspectives: the grumpy police officer Mads, the ambitious Energreen lawyer Claudia, the reckless car mechanic Nicky - they all have something to do with the case at some point. What's more, they all maneuver themselves into trouble sooner or later. The series is also exciting because it plays with the image of Denmark. Beautiful furniture, the perfect home, clean energy - all of this is dismantled in "Follow the Money". The protagonists' homes are not comfortable (Nicky). And if they are at first glance, the problems are simply lurking between the designer furniture (Mads is caring for his wife who suffers from MS and she is cheating on him, Claudia's ex wants to go to Paris with their young son). Energy manager Alexander Sødergren rides his racing bike to the BBC interview in an environmentally friendly way ("I'm from Copenhagen") and preaches the clean energy future, but in the background he is making dirty deals." (Simon Knopf, on: tagesanzeiger.ch) Season 1 - Episode 1 After a body is found at a wind farm, the energy company Energreen is cast in a bad light. Police officer Mads tries to solve the case. Meanwhile, ambitious lawyer Claudia has to investigate internal fraudsters at Energreen. And car mechanic Nicky receives a tempting offer.
