Free Style is the name of the dance direction of Laura's, Teresa's, Leonie's and Anna's dance group. They train twice a week for six months to make sure that the four-minute performance is perfect. The trainer's tone gets harsher as the big day approaches. Mareike watches the girls wistfully. Although she has not been allowed to dance for months after an operation on her legs, she comes to every training session. On the day of the preview, they do their hair and make-up - and then the moment is there! Created as part of the dok you competition. The "dok you" project has been successfully promoting documentary film for children and young people for years. Short documentaries for children and young people have also been made at the Hochschule für Medien (KHM) in Cologne, including "Mein Leben tanzt". The films, many of which have won awards, are shown on WDR television, schools and cinema screenings, are available on the WDR film education platform dok'mal! - and now also in a selection on filmfriend.
