Leonato, the governor of Messina, is visited by his friend Don Pedro, who has just returned from a victorious campaign with his entourage. Although there is now peace on the battlefields, a battle for love and honor quickly flares up at Leonato's court. Claudio falls in love with the beautiful Hero. Their happiness seems perfect, but jealousy and an intrigue threaten to thwart the planned wedding... Benedict and Leonato's sharp-tongued niece Beatrice are quite different. They love to openly act out their contempt for love, marriage, and each other. They could never imagine being married themselves one day. But then Don Pedro has a plan that could change everything.
