The German engineer Harald Berger and the Indian temple dancer Seetha are on the run from the Maharaja Chandra. But Chandra has already set his hounds on their trail. His half-brother Ramigani, who is pursuing his own intrigues, succeeds in bringing Seetha back to the palace in Eschnapur. Chandra also wants to make her his wife, but when Seetha refuses, he threatens to bury her alive in a newly erected tomb. Meanwhile, Berger and his brother-in-law Dr. Rohde fight for survival in the deep dungeons of the palace...
