In May 2019, the 1st FC UNION BERLIN was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga. More than 30 years ago, when this documentary was made, hardly any of the fans would have dreamed of that. How could they - the Berlin Wall was still standing and the Bundesliga was part of a hostile system. During the 1987/1988 premier league season, a DEFA film team accompanied one of the numerous fan clubs of 1. FC UNION BERLIN, BSV Prenzlauer Berg. Victories, defeats, many personal moments, but also violent clashes between the opposing fan camps determine the common journeys through the GDR, which was in a state of upheaval. Atmospherically impressive staged by director Ernst Cantzler, always oppressively dense the camera of Michael Lösche ("Whispering and Screaming"). An impressive film document not only for soccer fans. With music by Aljosche Rompe, founder of Feeling B.
