Director Paul Andrew Williams ("London To Brighton") tells a wonderful story about love, hope and the magical power of music in this tragic-comedy with a top-class cast including Terence Stamp, Vanessa Redgrave, Gemma Arterton and Christopher Eccleston. At the center of the story is the grumpy pensioner Arthur (Terence Stamp). Arthur cannot understand why his wife Marion (Vanessa Redgrave) voluntarily and regularly undergoes what he sees as the embarrassing procedure of singing silly songs in their choir. But Marion's love of singing is unwavering despite a serious illness, and so Arthur reluctantly supports her. The young choir director Elisabeth (Gemma Arterton) sees something special in Arthur and wants him to join her choir at all costs and against his vehement opposition. She persistently works on Arthur and in the course of time he rediscovers his joy of life that he thought was lost. For Arthur begins to understand that it is never too late for change. Let yourself be enchanted by this sensitive love story, in which music opens the door to a lonely heart that was thought to be closed.
