The Collector

History/Society, France 2018

Haunted by the Holocaust and the deportation of his family, Belgian citizen Arthur Langerman seeks to understand how antisemitic corrosion works. In thirty years, he has accumulated the largest collection of images and anti-Semitic objects: more than 7500 images and various objects. The fate of this nauseating heritage arises: for Arthur, confronting these images is to guard against their subsequent harmfulness. This is why he seeks to exhibit not one, two or three posters that are often asked for temporary exhibitions; he wants to show the whole of his collection and faces much skepticism and opposition.
