In search of inspiration, British musician and indie icon PJ Harvey follows her friend, award-winning photojournalist and cameraman Seamus Murphy, on his travels around the world. In Afghanistan, Kosovo and Washington DC, Harvey collects thoughts and writes texts, Murphy takes pictures. Back in London, the musician transforms the collected words into poems, songs, and finally into a music album, "The Hope Six Demolition Project", which she records as part of an art performance. In a specially constructed room at Somerset House, the public can watch the five-week creation process as if Harvey and her band were a living sound sculpture. "PJ Harvey - A Dog Called Money" not only provides an unprecedented, intimate insight into the working process of PJ Harvey, but also shows in an exemplary manner how great art is created from inspiration in the course of a collaborative creative process: a music album, an art installation, a documentary film. Murphy shows the birth of Harvey's songs and his film as an act of deep empathy, based on direct encounters with people and places. A moving and multi-layered documentary film - not only for PJ Harvey fans.
