Thomas is determined to go on a skiing holiday with his family, even though his wife Martina doesn't really have time and their daughter Jenny doesn't feel like it. Still in a good mood, Thomas embarks on a holiday in the Swiss Alps, that has to be beautiful - come hell or high water. The family also has Sarah, the daughter of Thomas' bosses, in tow - simply because the father of the family is conflict shy and therefore rarely says no. The two teenage brats promptly get into it with the village youth, the mood tips and things get heated. But Thomas continues to look the other way instead of intervening. He ignores his wife's needs as well as the fact that there are rivalries between the teenagers. Thomas prefers to wrap himself in more and more lies and half-truths - until he threatens to suffocate in them...
