The truck driver Pávek, short and fat, and his co-driver Otik, long and thin, are an unequal couple. They live in a small village "at the end of the world". Because Otik is somewhat mentally handicapped, his work colleague Pávek and the villagers worry about him. When Otik decides to move to the capital city of Prague on his own after an argument with Pávek, everyone realizes what they are losing by his departure. Everyone tries to make Otik stay in his little village, in his sweet homeland.
