A topic with many facets

In a time full of global and societal crises, it is worth taking a look at what happiness means for us humans today. Happiness can be viewed from many angles: Approaches are provided by scientific happiness research as well as by the consideration of artistic debate, e.g. in the form of literature or film. But can philosophical, psychological or medical approaches explain the feeling of happiness? The consideration of personal happiness factors such as family, hobby, profession, social commitment, which can enrich life, also play a central role in this topic. Our film selection also approaches the topic of happiness in quite a variety of ways. The collection was created in collaboration with Büchereizentrale Schleswig-Holstein on the theme room “Happiness” in 2023.
