One of the most respected film music composers, honoured with Oscar, Golden Globe and Grammy awards

Gabriel Yared, born in Beirut in 1949, is one of the most respected film music composers in the world. He works as a composer, orchestrator and producer (for singers such as Françoise Hardy, Charles Aznavour, Gilbert Bécaud and Mireille Mathieu), debuted in 1980 with the soundtrack for Jean-Luc Godard's "Save Yourself" and has since composed for more than 100 films, including works by Jean-Jacques Beineix, Robert Altman and Jean-Jacques Annaud. For "The English Patient" by Anthony Minghella, he won an Oscar, the Golden Globe and a Grammy.
